How to select a vest

How to select a vest

The basic solution of the vests always includes the front part and the back part. The customer selects the additional accessories based on his or her needs by adding the neck, arm and groin protection and increases the ballistic protection level by adding hard armor plates. The pattern solution is decisive for the protective surface size and the purpose for which the vest will be used. The soft armor insert selected influences not only the resistance level, but also the basic parameters such as weight, flexibility, thickness and rigidity.

  1. 1. Purpose of the vest

    • Based on the type of use, activity or profession
    • For
      • diplomatic purposes
      • police
      • army
      • security guard
      • sedentary activities
      • errands
      • and others

Our bulletproof vests are categorized as follows:

  • GS - covert vests
  • GV - overt vests
    • Without MOLLE system are the vests intended to be used under a tactical vest or jacket when it is not necessary to carry additional equipment.
    • With MOLLE system which covers the entire vest surface or a part of it to attach pouches and tactical equipment.
    • Quick-release vests are equipped with a system which, in case of a life threatening situation or after falling in water, allows a quick release of the entire bulletproof equipment with a single action.

  1. 2. Choosing the sewing pattern solution

    • Each sewing pattern solution has its own focus, from the concealable vests intended for diplomatic purposes up to Task Force vests with full equipment and quick-release system
    • By selecting a specific sewing pattern, we also choose the vest protective surface size
    • The types of sewing patterns have various options of additional equipment

  1. 3. Choosing the soft armor insert

    • The choice of the soft armor insert has influence on the basic characteristics of the vest, i.e. weight, flexibility, rigidity, thickness, different types of resistance as well as the price
    • For example a combined bulletproof and stab-proof soft armor insert
    • Our GMP soft armor inserts can be chosen on the basis of
      • ballistic standard
      • ballistic resistance level
      • weight (if it is to be worn for a whole day, we recommend choosing as lightweight soft armor insert as possible)
      • flexibility
      • rigidity (the hit-proof and stab-proof soft armor inserts are more rigid)
      • thickness

  1. 4. Basic ballistic resistance level

    • Soft armor insert up to the maximum resistance level of IIIA
    • Hard armor plates up to the maximum resistance level of IV
    • The ICW hard armor plates must always be combined with the soft armor insert IIIA

  1. 5. Increasing the ballistic resistance level

    • You may increase the ballistic resistance level by adding hard armor plates
    • You may choose the pockets to place the hard armor plates on the vest

  1. 6. Additional equipment

    • In addition to the basic vest components (front part and back part), we offer additional neck, groing and arms protection
    • The bulletproof belt
    • The transport bag, pouches, elbow and knee guards, and others

  1. 7. Choosing the surface material and colour

    • Cotton, polyester, polyamide, blended fabrics
    • Black, olive, sand, multicam and others
